Cookie Policy
Which cookies GULD.COM sets, who the third-party processors are, how long each one is kept, and how to change your choices.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. This policy also covers similar technologies that do the same job: HTML5 local storage, session storage and tracking pixels. Where we refer to cookies below, those technologies are included.
A first-party cookie is set by guld.com itself. A third-party cookie is set by another company’s domain when you interact with a service embedded in the site, such as a payment page.
Legal basis
Storing information on your device, or reading information already stored there, is regulated by the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) as implemented in Sweden through the Electronic Communications Act. Where a cookie also involves processing of personal data, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) applies alongside it.
Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because they are required to deliver a service you have asked for. Every other cookie is set only after you have given consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Consent categories
Our consent tool is configured with four categories. You can accept or reject each of the optional ones independently.
- Necessary — required for sign-in, the basket, checkout, payment and identity verification. Cannot be switched off.
- Functionality — remembers preferences such as your language.
- Measurement — pseudonymised product analytics. This category gates PostHog.
- Marketing — advertising and campaign measurement. No cookies are currently set in this category.
Strictly necessary
These cookies keep you signed in, hold your basket together between pages, and allow the payment and identity-verification steps to complete. Blocking them will break sign-in, checkout and verification.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _medusa_jwt | guld.com | Keeps you signed in. | First-party | 7 days, or until you sign out |
| _medusa_cart_id | guld.com | Links your browser to your basket. | First-party | 7 days |
| _medusa_cache_id | guld.com | Scopes cached content to your session. | First-party | 24 hours |
| Mollie cookies | Mollie B.V. | Set only when you are redirected to Mollie’s hosted payment page, to secure and complete the payment. | Third-party | Session to 1 year |
| Sumsub cookies | Sum and Substance Ltd. | Set only when the identity-verification widget loads, to run and secure the verification session. | Third-party | Session to 1 year |
Functional
Functional cookies remember choices you have made so the site behaves the way you expect on your next visit.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _medusa_locale | guld.com | Remembers your language. | First-party | 7 days |
| NEXT_LOCALE | guld.com | Remembers your language between visits so pages render in it on arrival. | First-party | 12 months |
Your cookie consent choices are not stored in a cookie. Our consent tool, c15t, runs in offline mode and keeps your choices in your browser’s localStorage on your device only. They are not transmitted to us or to any consent-management service. Clearing your browser storage erases the record, and you will be asked to choose again.
Analytics
Analytics cookies are set only after you accept the measurement category. They help us understand which pages are used and where the site fails people.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ph_* | PostHog (EU Cloud) | Pseudonymised product analytics: page views, feature use and session continuity. | First-party | Up to 12 months |
These are first-party cookies. Analytics requests are proxied through guld.com/ingest, so nothing is sent from your browser to a third-party domain. The data is processed by PostHog on EU infrastructure.
Marketing
No marketing or advertising cookies are currently set on GULD.COM. We do not run advertising tags, retargeting pixels or conversion trackers.
The marketing category still appears in the consent tool so that your choice is already recorded if that ever changes. If we introduce a marketing cookie, it will be listed here and set only after you have consented to this category.
Retention
- Sign-in and basket cookies expire after 7 days, or sooner when you sign out.
- The cache-scoping cookie expires after 24 hours.
- Language cookies expire after 7 days and 12 months respectively.
- PostHog cookies expire after no more than 12 months.
- Mollie and Sumsub cookies follow those providers’ own retention periods, between the end of your session and one year.
- Your consent record stays in localStorage until you change it or clear your browser storage.
Managing your choices
Select Cookie Settings in the site footer to review or change your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent stops further collection; it does not delete data already collected, which you can request separately.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge each provide controls for this under privacy or site settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in, checkout and identity verification from working.
Controller and contact
The controller for the processing described in this policy is Reserva Europe AB, corporate registration number 559536-2806, Sweden.
Questions about cookies or about how we handle your data can be sent to privacy@guld.com.
